Two men were arrested onboard sailing yacht Tacabanda II on Monday night in Brighton Marina Sussex by Border Force agents and officers from the National Crime Agency. Both men, aged 29 and 62, and in custody helping Police with their enquiries.
The 36 foot yacht is a Comet III type built with a fin keel and was up for sale on the hard in Trinidad in March of this year. She was described as very stable, strong and reliable in any weather.
The yacht is most likely being extensively searched including having her keel removed. After any resulting trial the yacht will most likely be confiscated and sold by Customs.
Let’s hope the keel is replaced securely.
