Saturday in July saw boaters galore turn out to enjoy the glorious sunshine and light winds.
With both the RNLI open day and Sussex Yacht Club’s regatta there was loads to see for everyone.
Out beyond Shoreham harbour entrance graceful yachts raced one and another for a prize.
A noble volunteer stays at anchor to act as the start, or committee boat proudly displaying their club’s flag
Serious racers hurry around the course……
A racing yacht sails downwind with its spinnaker up, its blue base just visable in the image below….
You don’t need to be rich to enjoy messing around in boats….
Back inside the harbour wall a Wayfarer dinghy slides by…..
Others have been having fun too…..
It is the Royal National Lifeboat Institution‘s open day too. Thank you guys for being there…
A perfect place and day to get out on the water….
Sailing by without a care in the world……
It is just fun simply sitting in a boat……….
Dinghies returning to the jetty at Sussex Yacht Club with everything thing from a hot shower and cup of tea to a beer just awaiting them… everyone home safely…. that is the main thing.
A perfect summer’s day in a timeless town………Shoreham by Sea
